LuciFind™ adds advanced Search functionality for
IBM Workplace Web Content Management 5.1 and 6.0.
Brand New Search Functionality
LuciFind™ provides an extensive range of brand new advanced search
and indexing functionality. Some of the major highlights include:
- Indexing of document attachments - DOC, PDF, PPT, XLS, RTF, TXT.
- Exclusion of common blocks of HTML from the indexing process - eliminates irrelevant search results
- Flexible searching, sorting and grouping options including searching by dates, categories, presentation templates and custom fields.
- Find content faster by restricting results to the current site area only - restrict content searches to the areas of interest
- Automatic highlighting of user search query terms in the summary information of search results - end users find their content faster
- Supports Wildcard (*) and Phrase searching - superior searching options
LuciFind™ is also able to
search both secure (restricted) and non-secure content (public) making it
suitable for use with all IWWCM website types.
Seamless integration with IWWCM means that search results can be embedded into any web content page for delivery in
both WebSphere Portal and non-WebSphere Portal applications.
Fast Installation / Configuration
Once installed, LuciFind™ provides an AutoConfigure option within the Administration Portlet, which detects
and configures the Collections automatically. The search Collections (based on Library names) and Search Collection Sources (based on Library/Site
combinations) can are individually enabled / disabled and even updated manually independent of the automatic schedules.
Fully Configurable Interface
LuciFind™ provides an Administration Portlet that allows complete control over the indexing process. Specifically written
as a search replacement for IBM's Workplace Web Content Management (IWWCM) software, LuciFind™ provides clear status information
at all times. Collections can be updated manually and configuration options reloaded at any time directly
from the interface, without the requirement to restart Portal.
IWWCM Integration
With LuciFind™, the search results can be integrated seemlessly within a Presentation Template of IWWCM. The inclusion of a "
Search this SiteArea" facility is now possible using
LuciFind™. HTML Header, Footer and Result layouts can be defined individually for each IWWCM Library and even automatically created as separate IWWCM Library Components when LuciFind™ is run.
Powerful Search Filtering
Search using individual keywords, quoted phrases, even wildcards. Restrict searching to any or all indexed fields. Search the current
sitearea, or the current sitearea and any descendents. Search for one or more Categories, one or more Authoring Templates, one or more
Presentation Templates or a combination of all three. Search for content created, modified, published, or even indexed between dates, from dates
or within the last
n days.
Flexible Search Results
Search result replacement tags (eg
[Search:Title],
[Search:DateIndexed]) allow any stored field to be displayed for each result. Term highlighting also identifies
where the query keyword(s) were detected - including separate highlighting of attachments.
Compatibility
LuciFind™ is designed to work with IBM Workplace Web Content Management 6.0 (IWWCM 6.0) and above. Written for Java 1.4, it should run
on any hardware and operating system that supports IBM WebSphere Portal 6.0. It is recommended to install the IWWCM updates and iFixes recommended
by IBM to keep IWWCM and WebSphere Portal running optimally.
Performance
Using a combination of permanent file system and cached memory indexes, LuciFind™ uses optimized indexes to search, sort, and display paged results very quickly. Preloading
of indexes into memory (if they are within RAM limits) and preprocessing of layouts reduces search times considerably for initial searches.
